The collection included lavish custom denim outfitting accented with embellishments and powerful symbols representing various sources of inspiration from Plasencia’s journey. Described as a brand that embraces diversity through fashion, Blaxicana Couture featured designs for both men and women.
At the opening of the show, attendees were given a multimedia presentation into the story of Blaxicana Couture. Having been inspired by her daughter, Alece shared with guests how she conceptualized the name of the brand and described her diverse roots as a California native, elements of which can be found in her distinct designs.
In addition to a live performance by singer Allyana and music by DJ Low Kz. An ideal start to kick off the first official week of summer, City&Swim another LA-based brand specializing in swimwear was also on site presenting pieces from their collection. The backdrop for the event was a 3-dimensional art piece created by artist Jose Corado. The event was sponsored by Bohemia Beer and each guest received a gorgeous swag bag with all things Blaxicana Couture included.
