Haute Rod Rod EP ‘The Complication A Beautiful Tragedy Cautionary Tales from The Streets

Haute Rod

Haute Rod

Baltimore artist Haute Rod released his EP titled ‘The Complication A Beautiful Tragedy’ towards the end of 2017. The project consists of 11 distinct tracks which embody the ethos of Haute Rod who is recognized for his raw lyrical content. The latest single from ‘The Complication A Beautiful Tragedy’ is “Rod”, a soul-driven track with a personal approach, infectious cadence and vivid metaphors.

“Rod” encompasses all of the elements of a street banger while exuding the essence of a thick underground groove. Suave rhythms accentuate this track in which Haute Rod introduces descriptive storytelling and candid snapshots of his life through lyrics. “Rod” is the quintessential answer to haters far and wide as Haute Rod lyrically slays naysayers as he says “this is the last time I visit here”. The artist gives an unapologetic performance that is 100% original and decidedly uncut.

‘The Complication A Beautiful Tragedy’ was released in October 2017, but we will get you up to speed with an overview of some of our favorite tracks on the release.

If you haven’t heard “Black Bar” ft. Sheila D., it’s time to wake up from your slumber, as this is not a track to sleep on. Haute Rod delivers another captivating performance with catchy bars and raw energy. “Black Bar” Is complemented by rap vocals courtesy of Sheila D. This is a rugged track with an assured message.

Haute Rod joins forces with songstress Rose Breyae on “Let You Know” an atypical hip-hop/R&B fusion that ventures away from the pop-flavor that listeners have grown so familiar with. “Let You Know” takes it back and is reminiscent to the pioneering sounds and daring music collaborations of the late 90s.

‘The Complication A Beautiful Tragedy’ is heavy on street narratives while dealing with topics that are often viewed as taboo to people who may be locked in their own gilded reality. Haute Rod  presents a series of visuals through his body of work which will undoubtedly resound with hushed voices of many an individual. “Fallen Soldier” ft. Greenspan” is just one example of how Haute Rod conveys such messages.

The nostalgic elixir known as ‘The Complication A Beautiful Tragedy’ continues it’s coalescence of the not so distant past and the discordant present with “No Dayz Off”, a sonically distorted production with deep bass grooves and haunting melodies. Haute Rod uses drugs as a metaphor to deliver a powerful message.

Taking the competitive nature of the beast to the next level, “Elevate” ft. Legeion revisits some of the content heard on “Black Bar” while countering the societal constructs of blackness with real depictions, peeling back layers of black excellence with each subsequent bar.

The lyrical savagery on the EP continues with “FTW” in which Haute Rod makes the actual universe his bitch. Haute Rod goes there on “FTW” landing a direct hit on the music industry and various facets of society, leaving only remnants behind in what could only be considered a natural calamity.

Haute Rod hits the proverbial wall on ‘Strapped Mentally”; this is a track that many people can relate to. This production is a powerful track with a solid message. Unrefined and filled with fury, the production speaks to a myriad of frustrations that push individuals close to the edge while still offering a glimpse of hope. It is evident that Haute Rod is ready to battle some serious demons but he has mustered enough within to reach out to potentially stricken fans.

‘The Complication A Beautiful Tragedy’ starts to wrap up with “The Past” featuring Kyle Henley, a synth-focused production with catching instrumentals and a memorable hook. “The Past” is a sincere track that is incredibly relatable and forthcoming. Guys and girls will love this optimistic take on broken hearts.

The ultimate finish to the momentous occasion in which Haute Rod has gifted fans with is “Walking Through The Fire”,  another toss back to eons past. “Walking Through The Fire” delivers succinct lyrical content and subtle dark grooves. The track is an emotional one that is both provocative and inspiring.  Once again, Haute Rod deals with issues that many people may not want to grapple since the truth sometimes hurts but he does so with ease.

The very first track on the EP is “Condo Dreams” ft. Phllftyboiiurg, an underground hip-hop track with a poetic delivery and retro melodies. Haute Rod delivers gritty lyrics which are woven with a throwback R&B-style hook. Check out the music video for “Condo Dreams” ft. Phllftyboiiurg on YouTube.

Auroch Lithuanian Eastwood (Prod. by Gatemanspy) Lithuanian Artist Breaks Boundaries

Auroch Music Review

Auroch Music Review

Auroch, a musician and hip-hop artist hailing from Lithuania just released his latest project titled “Lithuanian Eastwood” which includes a music video, now streaming for fans on YouTube. The track will provide an unfiltered look at the world through the eyes of a young artist who is looking to reach a global audience with a bold message. “Lithuanian Eastwood” is not your average hip-hop track, if there is any such thing. In fact, Auroch has taken his own unique approach to the genre and created an entirely new branch of an ever-evolving tree of sound.

The artist who has been experimenting with music since he was a teenager has fused together hip-hop and country styles and created what he calls “hick-hop”.  Considering where in the world Auroch is and keeping in mind the connectedness of the universe as a whole, his venture is unprecedented.

“Lithuanian Eastwood” will appeal to both hip-hop and country music fans though it has been tried before for better and sometimes worse ex. Florida Georgia Line x Nelly and Brad Paisley x LL Cool J. For what it is worth, Auroch does not deliver the same cookie-cutter style, that is pop-heavy and fit for the mainstream. Instead, he serves up an underground sound that is distinctly acoustic and finished off with barefaced bars. While other collaborations have failed to receive critical acclaim outside of a few spins on a pop station, Auroch did not have to rely on another act to introduce his fusion of sound, he manages to cross-over as a single voice. Moreover, “Lithuanian Eastwood” has a very telling message that is relatable to a wide audience.

Auroch, on his latest release gets to the point quickly. While the song contains the familiar nuances of hip-hop, the track lends itself to a rare point of view. The song is catchy, slightly dark, and robust with striking metaphors which are intertwined within the frequent brazen lyrics, not uncommon for a hip-hop production.

While the visual imagery presented in the music video appear to be somewhat controversial, Auroch who is not afraid to push boundaries states, “ I just want to push the limits by destroying something that separates us and sometimes makes us each others enemies”.

The beat is friendly to the ear, scored by a distinct country vibe. “Lithuanian Eastwood” is worth a listen as it will not fall short in terms of entertainment and engaging lyrical content. If you are looking for straightforward bars that eliminate fluff and address legitimate issues, “Lithuanian Eastwood” will deliver. Check out the Official Music Video below…

Watch Auroch Perform Lithuanian Eastwood on YouTube.

Based in a small town in Lithuania, Auroch is a distinct artist whose words are relatable on a global scale. His messages are crafted to reach individuals regardless of where they are from and it is immediately evident to listeners where Auroch is coming from as far as his style and message are concerned.

Though “Lithuanian Eastwood” is the first “hick-hop” track released by Auroch, he is no stranger to music. Having been inspired as a teenager by popular artists such as Snoop Dogg and Eminem, he spent his formative years defining his own unique style. Auroch is not only a rapper, but also a musician who plays the guitar. He is known for performing acoustic hip-hop  and has a style that is unique unto himself, one that cannot be replicated by any other artist. Of his latest release the artist says, “Country is true American thing, hip-hop was created by the black community and I’m Caucasian Lithuanian, bringing it all together. I’m trying to make music that would be acceptable to both country and hip-hop fans, sometimes pushing the limits”.

“Lithuanian Eastwood” is just the first in a series of tracks that Auroch plans to release which will also consist of country/rap blends. He plans to release an entire mixtape in 2018. Learn more about Auroch Music by following the links below.

Vegas-Based Rap Duo Jun & Carter Release “No One Like Us” Sin City We Are Listening

0
Jun and Carter

Jun and Carter

Vegas-based rap and producer duo Jun & Carter might be only 16 and 17 years old but they are ahead of their time and taking their music as serious as any rap veteran. Casting Sin City in a different light, Jun & Carter recently released their celebratory track “No One Like Us”. The track release comes right on the heels of the duo’s birthdays which are in May (the 1st and 16th respectively). Despite the number of aspiring rappers dropping music on any given day, there is little deviation that can be found in the production styles, lyrical content, and overall delivery of hip-hop music in general. While this may simply be a byproduct of the mainstream popularization of the genre, there are always some artists out in the music space looking to differentiate themselves from all of the rest. Sometimes they are well-received and often, if they stray too far from the familiar sounds that are hot at the moment, they are not. We suspect that Jun & Carter will not fall into this trap. Today, teen artists have access to all types of technology and they are empowered to create music that rival industry veterans and thanks to how music marketing and the industry overall has evolved, they are doing it on their own terms.

Although since its inception, many people believed that hip-hop would eventually die, the upcoming crop of aspiring artists have proven that hip-hop culture and rap itself will continue to live on. Artists like Jun & Carter have proven that hip-hop continues to touch a number of people of all ages, genders, backgrounds, ethnicities, and places around the world. If you don’t believe us, you can check out their latest track “No One Like Us” which has garnered over 3.2M hits on the popular music player Soundcloud.

“No One Like Us” is not unlike any other rap track out there. It consists of the basic conventions needed to develop a decent head-nodding mix. The track will give listeners a lazy hip hop beat with dark bass, eerie melodies, gritty bars, chant-easy hook and boasting metaphors which illustrate how much Better Jun & Carter are compared to the next contender, your basic battle-style rap. The point of difference here will be found in the perspective that the boys deliver which happens to be from that of the 702. Since typically we are exposed to rap artists from places like New York, Atlanta, and Los Angeles, Miami, Chicago, and places like Philly, it’s not too often that we can get a good glimpse into the sounds that are coming out of Vegas in the mainstream. The boys do deliver a slight underground feel, however the track is produced to a high level of quality in terms of sound and beyond their ability to spit some witty bars, the duo actually adds in some pretty solid harmonies on the vocal side. Check out Jun & Carter perform “No One Like Us”, which is now streaming on Soundcloud.

HighRoller DP and LV Jon Release ‘Joint Effort’ Mixtape

0
Joint Effort

Joint Effort

Michigan-based rap collaboration HighRoller DP and LV Jon have teamed up to deliver a rowdy selection of hip-hop tracks on the latest release of their mixtape ‘Joint Effort’. The production is an intriguing listen where every single track has at least one thing in common, ganja. Almost in time to celebrate 420, well depending on where it is legal and worth celebrating, ‘Joint Effort’ is likely an ideal addition to utilize as the soundtrack for your next sesh.

“STFU” the initial song on the Mixtape is a salty track with an angst feel and vexed personality. The track has a mellow laid back feel which contrasts with the edgy lyrics which are delivered in a catchy cadence. The hook, which of course includes a popular shortened slang as per the title is memorable yet simple and gets the point across.

The next track on this mischievous collection is HighRollers, fashioned after the main title of the mixtape. The lyrical flow on this track is clean while the beat is equally as squared away. “HighRollers” is a laid-back listen for fans that are just looking for some chill tunes as they get tangled up in the devil’s lettuce so to speak.

The unbothered energy on HighRoller maintains a steady frequency on “Different”. As the artists discover a way to discuss what appears to be one of their favorite hoppy, they utilize a series of salacious metaphors and cheeky lyrics to deliver an unapologetic performance.

‘Joint Effort’ checks in at “2:30AM” with a track that has an epic introduction that is reminiscent to 90’s west cost rap. Over the top of a deep-reverberating beat with intricate instrumentals, a detailed story is told with a relatively dark energy. The track offers a distinct vibe from the earlier spins on the mixtape though the lyrical content is relatively the same.

The tempo slows down a bit on the track “Phone” which is clearly a track that many different people will relate to. Considering the path of the initial tracks on the project, “Phone” is a surprising twist. The track is still undoubtedly raw, NSFW, and pushing the boundaries with little inhibitions as the character struggles to “find his way home”.

“Let’s Roll” turns down a notch instrumentally, however lyrically it is still on the turn up as clearly DP and LV Jon have their hands full maintaining this smoked out lifestyle their mixtape pays tribute to. Much like the earlier tracks, the track is unrepentant and righteously loyal to the haze.

‘Joint Effort’ is a massive project with narrow scope in regards to content. Though the artists do not stray away from the singular topic at hand, each song delivers its own unique personality. The rap collaboration offers a strong performance that demonstrates distinct lyrical capabilities, the ability to spit entertaining bars and professional production quality in terms of music. The energy of the mixtape remains relatively chill which happens to correspond well with the overall messages delivered across every track. Listeners will appreciate the unrefined appeal of the artists which hold little back while proceeding along with reckless abandon.

Check out ‘Joint Effort’ now streaming on Soundcloud.

One cut on the production that takes the energy up a notch is “You Can’t Get That”. This track has some post-modern production with a deep, gritty feel.  The lyrical delivery on the track is sound with catching bars and an impressionable hook. The flows deliver a solid cadence while the track delivers an addictive, underground feel with a layer of mass appeal.

Another dirty track that rap fans will enjoy on Joint Effort is “Bossy”, an upbeat production with a risqué demeanor. “Bossy” has an energetic party vibe that will likely resonate with the youthful, carefree spirit of today’s young people free from responsibilities and daily pressures of adulating.

Darker vibrations emerge on “Nose Bleed”, a production that is designed with a complex lyrical composition and recognizable references to pop culture terms. The track has an infectious rhythm and unforgettable series of bars. “Nose Bleed” is a wild, reckless ride through lyrical metaphors and vivid imagery.

Rounding out Joint Effort is “Two Puffs”, an ode to professional bluntism if there is a such thing. The cut tells an urban-infused rags to riches story about marijuana and its progressive effects suggesting money is somehow related to its quality. Listeners can expect more uncut lyrics and on this particular track some uncomplicated instrumentals.

Winding things down, “Sunni” is a lively production with some playful melodies juxtaposed with stony lyrics. “Sunni” delivers a slightly sentimental feel despite its brash lyrical content. Overall the track has a pleasant feel but the words conveyed are without a doubt savage by all accounts.

Joint Effort concludes with “Get Some” another distinct production with a noticeable Midwest feel. Wrapping things up with additional raucous, HighRoller and LV Jon assert their position with righteous indignation with a series of dramatic ironies and intoxicating instrumentals. Get more deets on ‘Joint Effort’ and the duo behind the madness, check out the links below.
